Verbatim Column
Early in 2020, Cetane’s Nancy Coop started a human interest column in BPN (Butane-Propane News). Modeled after the familiar “Heard on the Street” interview, Nancy sent questions to a group of propane colleagues who replied by e-mail. The monthly questions and responses were published in BPN and appear here verbatim. It’s an uncommon insight into colleagues’ honest replies to provocative questions.

What are the gaps in your knowledge and experience?

Some of us went to school to train for our jobs. Some of us were born into the family business. And some of us landed in propane without much of a clue. I’m not one who took business courses until I needed to learn to read an income statement. The gap was wide in my […]

Where’s the first destination you have in mind when travel restrictions are lifted?

During the global pandemic and requirements to shelter-in-place/lockdown/quarantine, some of us have wondered what it will be like to roam from home, step out into the world, reconnect live and in person with those we have missed. If you could have lunch with one person (alive or dead), who would it be?

Of all the questions this year, this seems to have been the one that was harder for most responders. When you read some of the answers, you may be inspired to think of what your own answer would be. Many people like the idea of inviting someone no longer living to join them in a […]

This month’s question was asked of our participants at the end of April when “shelter-in-place” orders and other restrictions were widely implemented, while in some states being extended and in other states being lifted or considering […]

This month’s question was asked of our participants at the end of March when “shelter-in-place” and other restrictions were being implemented in multiple states around the nation. Can we accept the notion that the only thing certain is the uncertain? What do we learn during unprecedented times? How […]

We were very pleased to have such a knowledgeable and experienced company in our corner with the team at Cetane. It was obvious that they knew the best process and how to get the ball over the goal line. Their advice throughout the process was greatly appreciated and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them.
